To be considered a “sewage pump” the general rule is that the pump must be capable of passing at least a 2” solid unless it is a cutter type pump. However, depending on the application it may be necessary to pump up to a 4” solid. Always refer to the predominating code in your area to confirm that the pump you are specifying or installing conforms with local requirements.
